Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate paediatric occupational therapist (school and clinic) to join our dedicated team. Job Summary
- Work will be a mix of in-person at the clinic and school-based care
- This position requires availability during school hours within the week, as well as one weekend day
- Provides comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and intervention to children with a variety of occupational performance issues (OPIs)
- Follows evidence-based approaches to assessment and treatment
- Provides education and feedback to families
- Communicates effectively and maintains relationships with referring physicians, healthcare providers and other relevant community stakeholders
- Manages a varied caseload and meets required timelines
- Maintains complete and accurate medical records using an electronic (computerized) system
- Part-time and full-time position available. Opportunity to work on weekends if interested.
- Other duties as required
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy, with experience in paediatric assessment and treatment
- Registered with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO)
Experience/Skills
- A minimum of two years of experience is preferred
- Strong proficiency in assessment and evidence-based occupational therapy interventions with children. Experience treating the following areas is an asset:
- Feeding
- Fine motor
- Sensory processing
- Self-regulation
- Motor planning
- Experience providing care virtually
- Proven ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
- Utilizes critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Efficient time management and organizational skills are required
- Requires excellent oral and written communication skills in English
- Proficient oral and written communication skills in French is an asset
