Occupational Therapist

Elyanna is a recent graduate of Queen’s University, where she earned her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Toronto Metropolitan University, where her studies deepened her curiosity about human behavior and the factors that impact well-being, sparking her interest in helping individuals live more meaningful lives.

Elyanna’s passion for occupational therapy was fostered through her experience as a support worker for individuals with various disabilities. She has also worked extensively with children, beginning as a swim teacher in her earlier years, where she helped build confidence and skill development in a supportive environment. Later, she gained further experience as an educational assistant, supporting children with physical and developmental disabilities in achieving greater independence in school settings. These experiences allowed her to see firsthand the life-changing impact of promoting independence and improving quality of life, motivating her to pursue a career where she could make a meaningful difference.

Her clinical experiences span various settings, including acute care, school, and community-based programs. Elyanna has built experience in sensory integration, self-regulation, fine motor skill development, and mental health intervention through her placements. She has worked with individuals with disabilities, mental illness, and neurological conditions, focusing on client-centered and evidence-based approaches.

In her free time, Elyanna enjoys going to the beach (when it’s warm!), playing guitar, and spending time with her family, friends, and little dog, Marty.
