Grief & Loss Group Therapy – IN PERSON
Grief and Loss Group Therapy is a treatment group aimed at supporting children and adolescents who have experienced a loss and are moving through the grieving process. This therapeutic group utilizes self-compassion and principles of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to support young people in processing their experiences of loss. This group is facilitated by a Registered Social Worker.
Sessions will provide a compassionate and supportive environment for participants to express their feelings and experiences of loss. Through guided discussions and activities, the group focuses on developing self-compassion and practical coping skills to help navigate the complex emotions of grief. This therapeutic group aims to empower children and adolescents to move through their grief with courage, understanding and a sense of connection with others who share similar experiences.
Group Goals:
- Developing self-compassion as a key tool to help navigate the grieving process.
- Gaining practical coping skills to manage the complex emotions that come with grief.
- Connecting with others who have experienced similar losses and feel supported in a group setting
- Learning to move through grief with courage, understanding, and a sense of connection.
Program Includes: 4 sessions; 30-minute caregiver intake appointment prior to the group starting.
